Book design for Tom Stuart-Smith: Drawn from the Land, the first major overview of landscape architect and designer Tom Stuart-Smith’s work, published by Thames & Hudson. Featuring 24 of Stuart-Smith’s gardens from around the world, the book is available in two formats – a standalone hardback, and a two-volume collector’s edition including a volume of drawings by Tom (collector’s edition photography by @mrbenfranklin1).
Two essays by the designer himself reveal his influences and methods, thoughts about gardens and gardening, and how he approaches his projects. Drawing is an important part of Stuart-Smith’s work, and each garden is illustrated with an overview drawing as well as commissioned photography. Descriptive texts place each project in context. An illustrated chronology of Stuart-Smith’s works to date completes this survey.
