Exhibition identity, interpretation, marketing material and catalogue for Craftspace touring exhibition We are Commoners: Creative acts of commoning. Featuring UK and international artists, the projects exhibited in this exhibition represent ideas and resources to inspire acts of ‘commoning’. Commons is historically thought of in relation to land and resources that are held for common use, but now it also includes the cultural commons such as open source software and knowledge in the digital world.
The exhibition opened at Oriel Davies Gallery in Wales and is touring the UK. The exhibition interpretation is realised in collaboration with Joanna Brinton; the draped felt banners are screen-printed and finished with hand-stitched text panels by Joanna. Captions are printed on plywood to echo the exhibition build (by Dual Works) which is plywood and dexion. All the materials are selected with the intention of flexibility of configuration for the tour, and for re-use after the exhibition.
Designed items include the identity, interpretation panels, captions, 16pp folded A5 exhibition guide, 80pp catalogue, poster, leaflets, enamel badge and design templates for tour venues.
